Description

What is Pneumatic Marine Fender:

High Energy Absorption • Low Reaction Force • International Marine Protection Solution

Pneumatic marine fenders are air-filled floating fenders designed to absorb collision energy during ship-to-ship (STS) and ship-to-dock (STD) operations. Using compressed air as the elastic buffer medium, pneumatic fenders provide superior impact resistance, lower hull pressure, and excellent adaptability to tidal variations.

Widely used in:

  • Oil & gas terminals
  • Naval ports
  • LNG facilities
  • Offshore platforms
  • Ship-to-ship transfer operations
  • Large vessel berthing systems

Core Advantages of Pneumatic Marine Fender

1. High Energy Absorption & Low Reaction Force

Compared with conventional rubber fenders, pneumatic fenders provide:

  • Higher energy absorption efficiency
  • Lower reaction force on vessel hull
  • Reduced risk of structural damage during berthing
  • The internal compressed air system ensures stable deformation and cushioning performance under heavy impact loads.

2. Certified Quality & International Standards

Available third-party certifications include:

BV, CCS, RS, TUV, DNV, ABS (upon request)

Manufactured according to:

ISO 17357 standards

International marine engineering requirements

3. Premium Rubber Material

The outer rubber layer uses high-grade natural rubber sourced from Thailand, providing:

  • Excellent elasticity
  • Superior abrasion resistance
  • UV and seawater resistance
  • Long-term anti-aging performance

4. Optional Tire-Chain Net Protection

Available protective net options:

  • Truck tire-chain net
  • Aircraft tire-chain net

Benefits:

  • Enhanced surface protection
  • Increased wear resistance
  • Extended operational lifespan
  • Improved performance in harsh berthing environments

5. Long-Term Warranty

  • Standard warranty: 24 months
  • Strict factory pressure testing before delivery
  • Complete quality inspection documentation available

Containers Arrangement

General Containers: Fenders diameter equal or less than 2.0m will be loaded in general containers. Florescence will calculate how many containers will be needed.

Flat Racks and Open top containers: If fenders diameter more than 2.0m, then fenders will be loaded in flat racks and open top containers.

Flat Rack containers for fenders inflated trasportation, and Open top containers for fenders deflated trasportation.

FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between pneumatic fenders and foam fenders?

Pneumatic fenders use compressed air as the cushioning medium, offering:

  • Higher energy absorption
  • Lower reaction force
  • Better floating performance

Foam fenders use closed-cell foam core construction and generally require less maintenance.

Q2: What initial pressure is available?

Standard initial internal pressures:

  • 50 kPa
  • 80 kPa

Custom pressure options are available based on project requirements.

Q3: How long is the service life?

Under proper maintenance and normal operating conditions:

Typical service life: 8–12 years

Actual lifespan depends on operating frequency and environmental conditions.

Q4: Are tire-chain nets necessary?

Tire-chain nets are recommended for:

  • Heavy-duty berthing
  • Harsh port environments
  • Frequent ship contact operations

They significantly improve abrasion resistance and external protection.

Q5: Can the fenders be customized?

Yes. We provide customization for:

  • Diameter
  • Length
  • Internal pressure
  • Net type
  • Flange material
  • Color marking
  • Chain and shackle accessories

Q6: What documents can be provided?

  • Available documents include:
  • Factory test report
  • Pressure testing report
  • Material certificate
  • Third-party inspection certificate
  • Operation and maintenance manual
  • Packing and loading report
