Rubber Ship Launching Airbags

Heavy-duty marine salvage airbags are specialized inflatable buoyancy and heavy-lifting systems designed for underwater ship refloating, stranded vessel salvage, and massive caisson relocation on land. Manufactured in accordance with ISO 14409:2011, these ultra-rugged rubber bags leverage high-density synthetic-tyre-cord layers to deliver monumental lifting forces and excellent puncture defense. Capable of providing massive buoyancy per unit, they serve as the premier flexible tool for marine salvage engineering companies and heavy-lifting contractors worldwide.

Marine airbags are widely used in launching and landing ship/ boat/vessel, lifting and moving heavy goods, salvaging stranded boats. Rubber Ship Launching Airbags are very popular with shipyard, ship owner, and marine supplies company now.

Structure

An outer rubber layer, one or more synthetic-tyre-cord layers.

A rubber ship launching airbag consists of two main parts: the flexible airbag body and the rigid end attachments.

The airbag body is constructed with an outer layer of wear-resistant rubber and internally reinforced with multiple plies of high-strength synthetic cord. This robust laminate is vulcanized into a single, durable unit.

Each end of the airbag is fitted with a sturdy cast-iron fitting, which is securely bonded to the rubber body during manufacture. One fitting features a connection for inflation and deflation, while the other is designed for towing and repositioning the airbag during operations.

FAQ

Q1: How do you attach salvage airbags to a sunken ship?

A1: They are secured using high-strength nylon webbing straps, wire ropes, or heavy chains wrapped around the ship hull or attached directly to lifting eyes.

Q2: Can these airbags be used to transport heavy concrete caissons on land?

A2: Yes. They act as heavy-duty rolling logs, distributing the immense weight of the caisson across a broad ground area to allow smooth horizontal relocation.

Q3: What is the maximum water depth for deploying these rubber buoyancy bags?

A3: They are regularly deployed in shallow to medium depths (up to 30-40 meters). For deep-water salvage, internal air pressure must be adjusted to counter hydrostatic pressure.

Q4: Are your marine rubber salvage bags resistant to oil contamination?

A4: Yes. The outer rubber is chemically enhanced to resist degradation from crude oil, chemical spills, and port pollutants during wreck salvage.

Q5: Can you supply complete salvage rigging accessories with the airbags?

A5: Yes. We provide comprehensive rigging setups including high-tensile shackles, master links, nylon slings, pressure relief valves, and inflation manifolds.
